History of Dr PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex
The Andhra Cricket Association inaugurated the complex on 15 June 2013 as its North Zone Cricket Academy. The cost was Rs. 5 crore and occupies about 10 acres near M.V.G.R. College of Engineering at Chintalavalasa in Denkada mandal. It was planned as a training centre for young cricketers from north Andhra.
The site includes a cricket stadium, pavilion, health centre, and lodging and boarding facilities for trainees. The complex was named in memory of Sir Vizzy, associated with the Pusapati royal family of Vizianagaram.
Its international record is limited to two Women’s T20Is between India Women and Sri Lanka Women on 25 and 26 January 2014.
