FairPlay rates include a house margin: they are prices, not predictions or guarantees. Rates can change or be suspended at any time. ₹ amounts are the total return on a ₹100 stake, stake included: ₹185 = rate 1.85. 18+ only. Play responsibly.
In-house pricing
How FairPlay sets its rates
FairPlay is the price-maker. Every rate comes from the same four steps, and each published price is saved as a numbered version so it can be traced back to the data, model and margin policy that produced it.
- 1
Verified match data
Every market starts from a fixture confirmed by our match-data source: teams, format, venue and start time. If the data is late or changes, the market is suspended.
- 2
FairPlay's own probability
Our model rates each team from verified past results in the same format, then estimates the chance of each outcome. The toss is priced as an even 50/50.
- 3
House margin and price ladder
A published margin policy turns the probability into a rate, which is rounded down to FairPlay's standard price ladder and checked against its allowed band.
- 4
Automatic suspension
Rates pause when match data is delayed, a fixture changes, the price expires or the match starts. A suspended rate is never shown as open.
| Market | Selections | When it is open |
|---|---|---|
| Toss winner | Either team | From fixture confirmation until 45 minutes before the scheduled start, or the toss if earlier |
| Match winner (T20, ODI) | Either team | Up to seven days before the start, when both teams have enough verified history |
| Test match result | Either team or draw | Coming later, once FairPlay's draw model has been tested |
The model, its tested accuracy by format, the price ladder and when rates close are set out in full on the prediction methodology page.
Margins in force
The book is the total of the chances implied by every rate in a market. A market with no margin adds up to 100%. A toss priced at 1.90 on each side is a book of about 105%, and the extra 5% is FairPlay's margin. These settings are read live from the pricing engine.
| Market | Status | Target book | Allowed band | Rate range | Price life |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Match winner (T20, ODI) | Approved | 105.0% | 104.0–106.0% | 1.01 to 26.00 | 15 minutes |
| Toss winner | Approved | 105.0% | 103.0–106.0% | 1.01 to 26.00 | 15 minutes |
| Test match result | Proposed, awaiting approval | 107.0% | 106.0–108.0% | 1.01 to 26.00 | 15 minutes |
Rates are always rounded down to FairPlay's price ladder, never up, and a price outside the allowed band is withheld rather than published.
Reading a FairPlay rate
Decimal rate
The total return per ₹1 staked, including your stake. ₹100 at 1.90 returns ₹190 if the selection wins: ₹90 profit plus your ₹100.
Indian rate
The profit on a ₹100 stake. A decimal 1.90 is an Indian rate of 90. Switch between the two with the toggle on the board.
Movement and version
▲ and ▼ show the change since the previous version, with the old rate in text. Each market shows when its price was last published and its version number.
Why a rate is suspended
The engine fails closed: when anything is uncertain, the rate is paused instead of left open. Each price lives for 15 minutes unless the engine re-confirms it.
- Price expired
- Every price has a short life. If the engine has not re-confirmed it in time, it is greyed out rather than left on show.
- Match data delayed
- The match-data source has not confirmed the fixture recently enough, so FairPlay will not price it until it does.
- Fixture changed
- Teams, start time or venue changed. The market waits for a review before it can reopen with a new price.
- Match started
- Pre-match markets close at the scheduled start. In-play rates stay off until FairPlay has tested live data delays.
- Toss cutoff
- The toss market closes 45 minutes before the scheduled start, or earlier if the toss result is recorded first.
- Under review
- A price failed one of the engine's checks, for example falling outside its allowed band, so it was withheld.
- Suspended by trader
- A FairPlay trader paused the market. It stays paused until a trader lifts it.
How markets will be settled
Applies once betting opens. No bets are being accepted today.
Settlement starts from the official final status and result in the match-data source: the winner, a tie, no result, abandonment, a DLS outcome or the toss result. That creates a settlement proposal, which is held briefly for corrections and confirmed by a FairPlay trader. Exceptions need a second approver.
If an official result is later corrected, affected bets are resettled. Bets that were accepted are always settled, even if the account is restricted afterwards.
House rules still to be approved: ties and super overs, no result and abandonment, reduced-overs matches, DLS results, Test draws, postponements and obvious-error handling. They will be published here before betting opens.
FairPlay rates questions
Are FairPlay rates copied from another bookmaker?
No. FairPlay does not use an external odds feed. Rates come from FairPlay's own pricing model, built only from verified match results, plus a published house margin.
How do I convert a decimal rate to an Indian rate?
Subtract 1 and multiply by 100. A decimal rate of 1.85 is an Indian rate of 85, meaning ₹85 profit on a ₹100 stake if the selection wins.
Why are both teams the same price for the toss?
The toss is a 50/50 event, so FairPlay prices it as even. Both sides carry the same house margin, which is why each is below 2.00.
Why is there no match-winner rate for some matches?
FairPlay only prices a match winner when both teams have enough verified results in the same format. Where the history is too thin, there is no rate rather than a guess.
Can I bet on these rates now?
Not yet. Real-money betting in INR stays locked until payment, identity and location checks are connected and verified. Until then the rates are shown for information.
Do rates change during a match?
Not at present. Pre-match markets close at the scheduled start and in-play rates are switched off until FairPlay has measured live data delays across real matches.
18+ only. Betting should be entertainment, never a way to make money or recover losses. Set a budget before you play and stop when you reach it.
