The four states
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Open | The price is live and has been re-confirmed by the engine within its short life. |
| Suspended | The price is paused for one of the reasons below and shown greyed out, never as open. |
| Closed | Pre-match markets close at the scheduled start; the toss market closes 45 minutes before. |
| Settled | The official result has been confirmed and the market is finished. |
Seven reasons a rate is suspended
- Price expired: every price has a short life, and if the engine has not re-confirmed it in time it is greyed out.
- Match data delayed: the match-data source has not confirmed the fixture recently enough.
- Fixture changed: teams, start time or venue changed, so the market waits for a review before reopening.
- Match started: pre-match markets close at the scheduled start, and in-play rates are off for now.
- Toss cutoff: the toss market closes 45 minutes before the start, or earlier if the toss is recorded first.
- Under review: a price failed one of the engine's checks, for example falling outside its allowed band.
- Suspended by trader: a FairPlay trader paused the market, and it stays paused until a trader lifts it.
How markets will be settled
Settlement starts from the official final status and result in the match-data source: the winner, a tie, no result, abandonment, a DLS outcome or the toss result. That creates a settlement proposal, which is held briefly for corrections and then confirmed by a FairPlay trader. Exceptions need a second approver.
If an official result is later corrected, affected bets are resettled. Bets that were accepted are always settled, even if the account is restricted afterwards.
Where things stand today
No bets are being accepted on FairPlay today. Rates and their states are shown for information, so you can see exactly how the engine behaves before anything opens. See the live board on the FairPlay rates page.
